Sally Hamouda

Sally Hamouda is a computer scientist whose research focuses on digital education, interactive learning tools, and inclusive STEM education. She joined Virginia Tech in 2021 as a Collegiate Associate Professor in the Computer Science Department. Previously, she held faculty positions at Rhode Island College (2017–2021) and Cairo University (2015–2017). Her work includes developing CodeKids, an interactive coding platform for K-8 students for STEM education. She leads outreach programs such as Women in Computing Day. Sally has received multiple awards, including the 2023 Outstanding in Teaching Award from Virginia Tech’s Computer Science Department. She serves as a senior program committee for the annual ACM Conference on International Computing Education Research.
