Michael S. Hsiao is a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech. His research interests include design automation, natural language based design and artificial intelligence. He has developed a natural-language-based design platform, Game Changineer, that assists students and teachers design video games in natural language. This platform imparts AI-native skills of creativity, critical-thinking of AI responses, and effective engagement with AI. It has been recognized as State Winner by the Virginia Cooperative Extension Educational Technology in 2022. He is a Fellow of IEEE.
