Dr. Donna Fortune is an Associate Professor of Practice at Virginia Tech in the School of Education. She specializes in Elementary Education within the degree of Curriculum & Instruction. Dr. Fortune has over 18 years of experience as an elementary educator, three years literacy teaching, and over 10 years in higher education. She specializes in literacy including listening literacy, social studies, culturally responsive teaching practices and UDL (Universal Design for Learning) practices. She is the program coordinator for undergraduate licensure programs and elementary education. She is co-editor of the Teacher Education Journal, on the advisory board of the Virginia College of Literacy Educators (VCLE), a Virginia Tech UDL Fellow, and chair of the Accessibility Committee for the School of Education.
