Kim Lester
Director Pre-College Programs

Kim grew up on a dairy farm in upstate New York, and practiced veterinary medicine there. After a move to Albuquerque, New Mexico, she switched to teaching, primarily middle school math and science. As the Director of Pre-College Programs for the Center for the Enhancement of Engineering Diversity (CEED) at Virginia Tech, she has expertise in designing, planning, facilitating, assessing, and coordinating innovative engineering experiences to students who may not otherwise have an opportunity to explore a future in engineering. She is passionate about making K-12 students aware of all the possibilities that a STEM career offers.
