Kate Gilbreath

Kate is a scientific communicator with a background educating the public in formal academic and informal settings. They contributed to laboratory research at the University of Texas at Austin's Institute for Geophysics and the UT Micropaleontology Lab from 2019 to 2022, while working in public settings such as lapidary shops, nature camp programs, and karst destinations in central Texas to engage the public with geologic and scientific concepts. Upon joining the Science Museum of Western Virginia, Kate cared for the Living Collections animal ambassadors of the museum before assuming the role of Director of Education.
