Christine Julien

Christine is a computer science researcher whose research focuses on both mobile and pervasive computing environments and computer science education. On the technical side, her research focuses on problems at the intersection of software engineering and dynamic, unpredictable networked environments. On the practical side, her entire career has focused on how to ease the software engineering burden associated with building applications for these complex environments. This naturally lends itself to computer science education, where Christine's more recent work has investigated how to make sensing and reasoning about physical activity an engaging and accessible channel for elementary computer science education. She has also been heavily involved in K-12 outreach programs that seek to make computing and engineering accessible to all learners.
