Carrie Kroehler

Associate Director

Carrie is the associate director of Virginia Tech’s Center for Communicating Science. A biologist, writer, and editor, she spent many years translating research for non-scientists and now helps others learn to make their research accessible and engaging. Carrie teaches a graduate-level communicating science course, facilitates workshops and intensives, and helps organize outreach programs. Carrie believes in the power of play and of experiential learning — and that research isn’t finished if it hasn’t been communicated effectively. She collaborates with others to study the impact and outcomes of the work of the Center for Communicating Science.
